The new β€˜buzz words’

We know it, we have all heard about it, they are the new β€˜buzz words’ flying around at the moment – self care, self love, wellbeing and mental health.

They all have different meanings to everyone but something I’ve found to be true with mums is their feelings of loss, power, and control over their lives has a huge impact on their self-esteem, confidence, health and life fulfilment.

The need to try and do everything, to please everyone and spin all those plates in the air generally leads to stress, anxiety, overwhelm or depression. The feelings of not being good enough because they can’t achieve it all, the fear of letting someone down and heaven forbid putting themselves first.

Do you need permission?

It took me years to realise this, as a mum of two young children, it wasn’t until I invested in coaching that it was revealed to me.

I had given most of my power away, I was drained, tired of trying to do it all and never having any time to do the things that I loved.

With this coaching came a revelation – I didn’t need permission to stop spinning those plates, I could choose which ones I spun, I had to learn to delegate to those around me and most importantly bring the fun back into my own life.

It’s not all on you

One of the biggest fears we have as mums is that nothing will get done without us, things will get forgotten etc. – fear or panic set in when we think about relinquishing control over our household.

Spoiler alert – most of the time that’s all in our heads!

If we stepped aside and took the day off would things really fall apart? Probably not, they may not get done the way we WANT them done but that’s a different issue.

So I give you permission here and now to delegate, to relinquish some control over your household and to allow things to just flow.

Organisation and planning

The biggest tip I want to give you is to get as organised and plan as much as possible – this will allow you to see free time in your schedule.

It will allow your household to run really well even if you aren’t around or will allow you to relax more if someone else is in charge for the day!

Sitting down once a week to organise your calendar, decide what needs doing, what really isn’t important and planning time slots in your week is hugely beneficial. Whether it’s 10 minutes for a hot cup of tea or an hour for a lovely bath, you may be surprised – there is generally always more time than we think.

Raise your energy

After deciding what time you have for yourself, you have the fabulous task of deciding what you will fit into those time slots. There are lots of things you can do for yourself of course, but one thing it should always do is raise your energetic vibration, to uplift your mood and make you feel good overall!

I now run my own diary, and life, how I want it to be without any detriment to my family or household.

I have made it my mission to help other mums do exactly the same. I want them to find clarity in their lives, to discover what really lights them up – once you know what you want you can start to make changes.

EmpowerΒ yourself today, break free of those daily rituals and find more joy in your life!
