New Year, Fresh Perspective: Reflecting on 2024 & Embracing 2025
I don’t know about you, but January makes us reflect more than any other month!
And as we head well into the bleak mid-winter, we feel it’s important to reflect on the past in order to look forward to the future.
As a business, we’ve been working hard to develop the business to reflect our salon values. We are a very community-focused salon, and our bunch of lovely caring and talented stylists love nothing more than helping people.

Simon Constantinou received The Little Princess Trust Golden Crown award
Simon Constantinou has been working with Little Princess Trust for over a decade and the team were absolutely delighted to be awarded the Golden Crown Award in 2019, 2022, 2023 and again in 2024. Continually meeting the most amazing & inspiring young people. Seeing first-hand how much of a difference this can make to a young person’s life, giving a sense of normality in an otherwise challenging time.

Simon Constantinou created a new welcoming wig consultation room.
This new cosy room with a sofa allows space for NHS & Little Princess Trust wig clients to be able to bring family to visit with them.
Simon Constantinou improved and expanded their wig and men’s hair system department with growing demand.
We are an established wig fitters with years of experience. We are an NHS approved provider. Our trained Cardiff wig, men’s hair system and hairpiece specialists are here for you, to talk through all your options during a consultation either virtually or in our safe and welcoming environment. A consultation is £35 – This consultation will be bespoke to you, our team, with their extensive knowledge will be able to show you wig or hair piece examples and colour match to your natural hair. We provide this service for all genders and we are a LGBTQ-friendly salon.

Simon Constantinou raised money for Little Princess Trust, Macmillan Cancer Care and City Hospice this year.
Each year we strive to raise money for charities close to our hearts. This year we supported The Little Princess Trust through our ‘Wear a Wig’ Day to raise money and awareness. We raised money for Macmillan Cancer Support through our Coffee Morning. And we all donated to City Hospice instead of sending Christmas Cards this year.
Simon Constantinou stylist, Karen, tirelessly and humbly volunteers with Cardiff For Ukraine.
Supporting refugees and soldiers. Regularly collecting donations and organising needed products to be flown to the Ukraine on the front line. Karen was also nominated for the ‘Nation of Sanctuary Award’ last year. As a salon we have donated money, supplies and Christmas gifts throughout 2024.
O.Constantinou & Sons signed the Cymru Wales / Business Wales Green Growth Pledge.
This year, Helen has worked with Business Wales De-Carbonisation Team to work out our carbon footprint and how we can get on track to improve this with the goal to eventually become carbon neutral.
And since this, we have started a new recycling scheme in the salon and secured SPF Business Development match-funding from Cardiff Council. Which enabled us to install Solar Panels paving our way to a sustainable future and it also allowed us to invest in wig-training equipment to upskill staff and to meet demands of this growing department.
Simon Constantinou added Non-Binary appointments to our service menu.
This addition to the service menu was to further support the LGBTQ+ community. We are already a very inclusive and welcoming salon, who have provided wigs and hair pieces for the trans community for years. However, we felt the salon software we use was limited, not allowing an ‘other’ option for clients, so we added ‘non-binary’ appointments to ensure that they may feel comfortable booking online and so that they are booked with a stylist who’s capabilities extend to both short and long hair.

The same great service without the chit chat for those who just want a bit of peace when they visit the salon. Whether clients want their time at the salon to be quiet me-time, time to catch up on work whilst having their hair done or whether they simply don’t feel comfortable with the small talk. Having this appointment option takes away the pressure for the client to ask us for some peace. It has also proven a great option for our neurodivergent clients.
