What is Microblading?
Microblading is a manual method of implanting pigment in hair-like strokes into the epidermis to create the look of fuller brows.
This form of tattooing is the newest trend in semi-permanent make up. The natural looking results are achieved with a fine, hand-held blade made up of 7 or more micro-needles. Instead of outlining and completely filling in the outline of your brows with colour, Microblading actually allows for the placement of hair-like strokes into the skin.
Is Microblading painful?
Unlike traditional tattooing which uses needles on a rotary / coil machine to push ink 7 layers deep into the skin, Microblading uses a manual blade and only targets 3 layers of skin. A topical numbing cream is applied ยฝ hour before the procedure to minimise discomfort.
What will my new microbladed brows look like?
Wondering what to expect visually? You will love your new brows.
Initially they will look a little darker than you expect – this is normal and you can expect them to fade.
By day 2 your new brows may look darker still as the skin starts to heal.
Day 5-10 you can expect the healing process to be underway, in a similar way to a tattoo, you may get a little scabbing, but keep applying the vitamin-enriched emollient provided and this will help speed up the healing process.
By day 10-14 you will love them! They may be a little paler by this point and then during the 6 week top up you can opt to go a little darker.
Why do I need the Top-Up session?
About 6 weeks after the initial sessions, it is advised that you take up the top-up session.
This is a quicker appointment for Monika to re-define the hairs and add more if necessary. This second appointment allows for the microblading to last between 1 to 3 years. See our aftercare advice for quick and pain-free healing.
